Unbound release day

unbound-9781481457231_lg Exciting news: Neal Shusterman’s Unbound anthology, the fifth book in the Unwind Dystology, was released today.

The Simon & Schuster website describes the book:

Find out what happens to Connor, Risa, and Lev now that they’ve finally destroyed the Proactive Citizenry in this collection of short stories set in the world of the New York Times bestselling Unwind Dystology by Neal Shusterman.

Connor Lassiter’s fight to bring down Proactive Citizenry and find a suitable alternative to unwinding concluded in UnDivided. Now Connor, Risa, and Lev are free to live in a peaceful future—or are they? Neal Shusterman brings back his beloved Unwind characters for his fans to see what’s left for those who were destined to be unwound.

I’m also excited about this anthology because it contains three novellas that Neal and I collaborated on: UnStrung which was released by Simon & Schuster as an ebook in 2012, UnFinished Symphony, a new story about Risa in the state home before Unwind began from a fellow ward’s point of view, and UnTithed, a Miracolina story after her “adventure” with Lev.

You can read an excerpt of UnTithed at Neal’s website.

I believe this is Neal’s first book release after his National Book Award win last month. Unbound is already listed at Amazon as a #1 bestseller. Hooray!

About mlknowlden

In 2011, I left engineering to write full-time. Between the years 1992 and 2011, I’ve published 14 stories with Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine that have featured the hypochondriac detective Micky Cardex and two stories that did not. The 1998 story “No, Thank You, John” was nominated for a Shamus award. Many of these stories have been included in anthologies and translated in multiple languages. With Neal Shusterman, I’ve also published a science fiction story for the More Amazing Stories anthology (Tor) published in 1998 and co-authored with Neal Shusterman an X-Files Young Adult novel (DARK MATTER) for HarperCollins in 1999 under the name Easton Royce. For Simon & Schuster in July 2012, we published an e-novella UNSTRUNG in Neal's UNWIND world. I have graduate degrees in English and Electrical Engineering.

The UNWIND books and shorter stories are brilliant, and your collaboration on the shorter works melds seamlessly into the overall arc of this series! Good work!
